Home/Work

Today I spent the majority of my work day at home. That’s right HOME. Why you ask? Because I was sent home.

Not because I am sick, man what I wouldn’t give to have a communicable disease as my reason for going home. Nope I was sent home because of a lack of work.

I know there are probably people out there thinking it can’t be that bad to be sent home. To those people I say no it isn’t. The first time.

This is not the first time, this is actually probably the tenth time? I think I’ve lost track. At this point I am starting to feel very apathetic towards my job.

Sometimes my job drives me crazy, but when I am getting to do the things I enjoy about my job it is great. This whole being sent home thing just isn’t fun.

Before I started this latest job I never even took sick days. I’ve taken many now, but I don’t even really have a problem with sick days. They are a valid reason to stay home. To stay home just because there isn’t enough work is just very disheartening. It makes it even harder to get up every morning to go to work when there is a possibility that I’ll run out of things to do and have to come home.

It just feels lazy to not be at work. Which is too grown up of a thought to really contemplate. :S

Plus it is worse being home and not having used the day productively. Did I work on my novel? Nope. Did I clean the house? Nope. What I did do was finish watching season one of Mad Men. Very entertaining. Though I am looking forward to actually putting in a full day of work tomorrow. Fingers crossed!

I Know, I Know…

I’ve been very absent lately. Are you still there? How have you been?

I’m alright, I just haven’t really had much of anything to say, or when I have things to say I just don’t feel like voicing them.

As you may have noticed (well if you leave your feed reader) I have changed the theme, there wasn’t really anything wrong with the old one but I wanted a change. Even if it isn’t a change that I see, just knowing there is a fresh look is nice. Plus I thought it might entice me to write more often. Do let me know what you think about it, if it needs tweaks or you want to see something added/removed, or if you hate it entirely. (Though if you hate it you have to at least show me a more appealing option.) I’ve added a feed from my twitter to the sidebar, and may place a few other things in there when I think of them. Anything you’d like to see?

What else is new?

I finally got a new phone, by leaving my previous carrier. They had no phones I wanted and I knew I could get the one I wanted by leaving. I’m pretty happy with it so far. We’ll see how it goes. :)

I’ve been reading through the Sookie Stackhouse novels by Charlaine Harris, which you might have noticed if you follow my reading lists down in the footer. I’m really enjoying them, plus the first book was turned into the True Blood series on HBO and it very entertaining. I’ve also started reading Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum novels, which are good so far. Though it is really funny reading books that are from the 90s, the fashion descriptions alone are hilarious.

Work is work, we’re slowing down to a crawl which is becoming rather painful, but what can you do. I can’t exactly afford to take the entire summer off, though I wish I could. :)

Hmmm, I can’t really think of anything else at the moment. Life is pretty quiet, which doesn’t really make for very exciting blogging. I’ll do my best to be a little more present though if I can. Hopefully something interesting will come along for me to blog about.

Random Thoughts…

While sick* and re-watching the 4th series of the new Doctor Who:
- Freema Agyeman has a nice butt, obvious from the camera angles.
- Catherine Tate has gorgeous eyes and I envy her red hair.
- David Tennant is mmmm…(ok perhaps not random as I always think that.)
- Catherine Tate has some really nice clothes though I could do without the white trainers.
- Witty lines are sometimes funnier when you’re too sick to open your eyes and are only listening…or is that just because you are sick.
- Did I mention yummy David Tennant?
- Man they run a LOT just listening to it is making me tired.
- Gummy bears, Ginger Ale, and Doctor Who DO help you get better faster. :)

*though this is being posted very much after the fact because I forgot I wrote it. I was REALLY sick though as in took THREE days off work sick. No fun.

Pleases Girls Completely

Ever since the community band concert I went to on Sunday I’ve had this song stuck in my head. It is funny because it was just an random comment that got me thinking about it. It does take me back though. :)

Do you remember it? Doesn’t it just take you back?

Day Twelve

Um, so I was going to write something, but then I started watching episodes of Firefly, didn’t write anything and now it is time for bed.

Actually well past time for bed.
