I Know, I Know…

I’ve been very absent lately. Are you still there? How have you been?

I’m alright, I just haven’t really had much of anything to say, or when I have things to say I just don’t feel like voicing them.

As you may have noticed (well if you leave your feed reader) I have changed the theme, there wasn’t really anything wrong with the old one but I wanted a change. Even if it isn’t a change that I see, just knowing there is a fresh look is nice. Plus I thought it might entice me to write more often. Do let me know what you think about it, if it needs tweaks or you want to see something added/removed, or if you hate it entirely. (Though if you hate it you have to at least show me a more appealing option.) I’ve added a feed from my twitter to the sidebar, and may place a few other things in there when I think of them. Anything you’d like to see?

What else is new?

I finally got a new phone, by leaving my previous carrier. They had no phones I wanted and I knew I could get the one I wanted by leaving. I’m pretty happy with it so far. We’ll see how it goes. :)

I’ve been reading through the Sookie Stackhouse novels by Charlaine Harris, which you might have noticed if you follow my reading lists down in the footer. I’m really enjoying them, plus the first book was turned into the True Blood series on HBO and it very entertaining. I’ve also started reading Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum novels, which are good so far. Though it is really funny reading books that are from the 90s, the fashion descriptions alone are hilarious.

Work is work, we’re slowing down to a crawl which is becoming rather painful, but what can you do. I can’t exactly afford to take the entire summer off, though I wish I could. :)

Hmmm, I can’t really think of anything else at the moment. Life is pretty quiet, which doesn’t really make for very exciting blogging. I’ll do my best to be a little more present though if I can. Hopefully something interesting will come along for me to blog about.

Disappointment

When I was looking for a new phone a while back I found the Samsung Omnia but it wasn’t available in Canada unless you bought one from an unlocked retailer.

Today Samsung announced the Omnia in Canada – with Telus and Bell.

I could cry. The phone I really wanted and it isn’t with my provider. At the moment I really hate Rogers. :(

Gadgets vs Gummies

I had gotten it in my head that I wanted a new phone, something I may or may not have mentioned.

I was weighing my options: Apple iPhone or Blackberry Curve.

I even polled some friends who came back with even votes for each. Except for Indigo Eve who picked X, as in NO phone at all, despite me telling her that wasn’t an option.

Then Tweek mentioned that you can’t IM on an iPhone and I was pushed towards the Curve. I went to the store, looked around, found out that the guy had left at 5:30 (despite someone telling me he didn’t leave until 6), and promptly walked out of the store.

I am now not getting a new phone. Guess Indigo was right all along. It isn’t like my phone has anything wrong with it anyway, I was just in a gadget rut and wanted some new toy.

Instead I went and bought some gummy bears.

The upside to gummy bears they are cheap, plus very tasty. The downside to gummy bears, THEY ARE VERY TASTY!

This entry doesn’t mean I am back, I don’t want you to get excited and think that I’m now going to be blogging regularly again. Lately I just haven’t been feeling the writing, which I hate. It is like the older I get the less like a writer I feel. I can’t even remember the last time I took a notebook somewhere and just wrote, for me. I look at my old entries or my musings and wonder who that girl was that wrote them and where she went. Which is perhaps as good a reason as any to try to start blogging again, if only to know I am writing SOMETHING again.

We’ll see…

For now I’ll just enjoy my gummy bears.

I Think My Laptop Is Dying

Lately it is having more and more issues. It is slow, programs are crashing, sidebar gadgets aren’t displaying properly some aren’t even working.

I have a feeling it is time to ghost my hard drive and prepare for a new laptop.

My brother keeps saying it is to be expected because my laptop is old. It isn’t THAT old though. :(

I’ve only had it since December 2007! Sure it was refurbished when they gave it to me, but it still wasn’t much older. It isn’t even two years old yet. :(

Of course this means I have to look for a new laptop, which is a hassle, plus it puts a pause on my getting a new cell phone. Darn electronics not playing nice.

Ummm…

I seem to be experiencing some technical difficulties, let’s call them Blue Screen of Death Moments, BSDMs. They are annoying me and making using my computer difficult at the moment.

Now I have to go look at Windows Debugging crap – gah! Sure it is probably nothing or it’ll be fixed in no time but really sometimes computers are such a pain.
