Worst Video Challenge

After much deliberation and too much wasted time on YouTube I think I finally came up with the video I think it the worst (or at least the worst of the ones I can think of – now I’ll probably think of 10 other ones).

I discarded many videos in my search for the Worst Video, such as:

Len’s – Steal My Sunshine – this video is totally stupid and I find the interaction between the brother and sister rather creepy. Plus the song makes NO sense. Still it has a catchy tune no? While it is definitely in my top 5 of crap it is not the worst.

Next I thought of a bunch of videos by Aqua but they don’t suck they are just REALLY cheesy. Plus totally entertaining, so let’s watch one. :)

Then Indigo Eve suggested the craptacular Spice Girls video for Wannabe. I can’t even go look it up I find it so annoying and neither should you. Still annoying but it isn’t that bad – kind of fits the stupid song even.

Also discarded Tub Thumping by Chumbawamba (though mostly cause I think it is a ridiculous song), Mambo #5 by Lou Bega (see previous reason), plus a slew of other lame videos because let’s face it there are a LOT!

So after all that what did I finally decide on?

Greedy Fly by Bush.

I really enjoy Bush, Gavin Rossdale is hot and a great musician, I can’t wait to hear more of his new album.

HOWEVER this video every time I’ve seen it I think ‘WTF?’ It is all just too much. It is like watching three videos mashed together. First there is your film noir crime scene, then good vs evil angel vs drug addict section, then there is the weird fly disection/egg hatching, which ok makes a little sense due to the song title but is still weird! Honestly the video does nothing for the song, which is actually good, if they’d picked maybe one theme and gone with it I might have enjoyed the video. Like the song says "Make up your mind, I need some help, To find this mind", yes please find that mind and redo this video.

That was the text message I got tonight.

Do you think it came from a sweet guy? Or maybe from one of my girl friends?

Well if you thought so, alas you’d be wrong. It came from a number I didn’t recognize at all. So I decided I should text them back and let them know .

Them: Hey Babe!
Me: I think you have the wrong number.
Them: Whys that?
Me: Who is this?
Them: Cam
Me: Ok well I, Likalia, don’t know a Cam. Which makes me think you have the wrong number. :)
Cam: I dont know you either
Me: Nope. Hope you find who you were looking for.
Cam: I text you?
Me: Yes you did.
Cam: I dont remember doing that…
Me: Oh well doesn’t matter. Just though I’d let you know you had a wrong number. Ciao

Seriously a thrilling conversation I tell you. Totally worth the .90 cents I paid in text fees. :)

Geography Lesson

On my last post, Delton joked about adding enough stars to the US flag to compensate for all the “territories” in Canada. While I appreciate the willingness to help me view tv shows on the internet, I’m afraid I’d like to keep Canada as Canada instead of another US State. (Sorry Delton)

What I do need to address though is the “territories” comment. I am aware that in the States they do not teach Canadian geography, other than to tell you ‘yeah there is a country up above us with snow, igloos and some hockey players.’ (I’m paraphrasing of course – no offense.)

Since we in Canada learn about the States in Social Studies class I figured it only fair to treat my US readers to a small geography lesson. It is for your best interest I do so too, because while Canadians are polite, we will kick your ass for not using correct terminology. :) Semantics, we’re anal about it.

Here goes:

Canada – The Great White North (This is only a Nickname – some places are not covered in snow all the time)

Our country is made up of as Delton noted Territories…and PROVINCES.

We have three Territories: Yukon, Nunavut, and The Northwest Territories

We have ten Provinces: British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, PEI and Newfoundland and Labrador (Newfoundland and Labrador are one Province).

Just because I like you all so much though I went and made one, because well doesn’t everyone deserve a Gold Star?

PS – No it isn’t the greatest drawing in the world, but give me a break all I had was MS Paint and a touchpad mouse. Not bad for a first attempt right?

500th Post

I don’t know if I should be proud to have that many or saddened I don’t have more.

What I do know though is that I won the May Battle of the Blog Mayhem. Spanky played a good game, but alas in the end as he said I “just wanted it more”. I mentioned on his blog that next time we’ll have to start at the beginning of a month.

Maggie and I went out for a walk tonight, while I am not a fan of the heat during the day I do enjoy the 17-20 degree temps at around 7pm. They are perfect for going for a walk by the water. Which is what we did. It was very nice. I think I did more of that babbling I do from time to time. :) She nicely listened and gave advice where necessary.

I’m very glad tomorrow is Friday. The weekend is going to be a welcome time. June really. May has just been a…meh…month. I am glad it is over, the only downside to June is that it is the last month that I work a full five day week. July means the beginning of four day weeks, long weekends are good, less money is not.

Well this has been a very boring 500th post, I promise the 1000th will be better.
